We are listening.
Kneebar News readers — in particular news media and podcasters — have asked for some tweaks in our ChatGPT prediction posts.
In response, we have removed betting odds from the guide. We have deleted ChatGPT’s predictions of each fight’s method and round of victory, largely because they were, well, not very predictive. Meanwhile, we have added a stat that captures ChatGPT’s degree of confidence in its winner predictions, on a scale of 0-100.
All of these changes are shown below in the Fight Guide for UFC 314, which takes place April 12 in Miami. And to make things easier, we also have created a downloadable PDF version of the Fight Guide, which you can view here.
This is an evolving process, so please contact us with suggestions for further refinements.

Main Card
Alexander Volkanovski vs. Diego Lopes (FW – 145 lb)
– Volkanovski’s path to victory: Volkanovski needs to weather the early storm and take over with pace and leg kicks. He should keep Lopes at range and dictate the rhythm with takedown defense and experience in deep waters. A steady, methodical approach wins him rounds.
– Lopes’s path to victory: Lopes should come out fast and unpredictable. If he can force chaos and engage in scrambles early, his creativity and submission game give him the best shot. A quick finish is far more likely than a five-round decision win.
– Prediction: Alexander Volkanovski wins (Confidence: 65/100). Volkanovski’s composure and five-round cardio edge outweigh Lopes’ volatility, but it’s a high-risk matchup.
Michael Chandler vs. Paddy Pimblett (LW – 155 lb)
– Chandler’s path to victory: Chandler should overwhelm Pimblett early with explosive striking and takedown feints. His speed and power can expose Paddy’s defense and lead to a first-round KO.
– Pimblett’s path to victory: Pimblett must survive the early blitz, slow the fight down, and look for grappling exchanges in the later rounds where Chandler may fade.
– Prediction: Michael Chandler wins (Confidence: 72/100). Pimblett’s defense and chin remain big question marks against someone with Chandler’s explosiveness.
Bryce Mitchell vs. Jean Silva (FW – 145 lb)
– Mitchell’s path to victory: Mitchell should chain wrestle early, get Silva to the ground, and hunt for submissions from dominant positions.
– Silva’s path to victory: Silva needs to keep it standing, defend takedowns, and use footwork and power shots to win rounds or score a KO.
– Prediction: Bryce Mitchell wins (Confidence: 66/100). Mitchell’s grappling advantage is the clearest edge. If he gets top control, he likely dominates.
Yair Rodriguez vs. Patricio Pitbull (FW – 145 lb)
– Rodriguez’s path to victory: Rodriguez should use movement and diverse kicking to frustrate Pitbull and keep him at range, avoiding pocket brawls.
– Pitbull’s path to victory: Pitbull needs to pressure early and land big shots in the pocket. He can steal rounds by closing distance and hurting Yair.
– Prediction: Yair Rodriguez wins (Confidence: 61/100). Rodriguez has the speed and range tools to outpoint Pitbull if he avoids exchanges in close.
Nikita Krylov vs. Dominick Reyes (LHW – 205 lb)
– Krylov’s path to victory: Krylov should pressure with varied attacks and look for takedown opportunities. His pace could overwhelm Reyes if he can’t reset.
– Reyes’s path to victory: Reyes must maintain range and land counters. His best shot is a KO via his straight left before Krylov starts mixing levels.
– Prediction: Nikita Krylov wins (Confidence: 63/100). Reyes has high-level tools but hasn’t looked the same since the Jones fight.
Prelims
Dan Ige vs. Sean Woodson (FW – 145 lb)
– Ige’s path to victory: Ige should blitz inside and land combos while threatening takedowns.
– Woodson’s path to victory: Woodson must use his length and jab to win at range.
– Prediction: Dan Ige wins (Confidence: 57/100). Ige’s pressure and experience should give him rounds in close quarters.
Xiaonan Yan vs. Virna Jandiroba (SW – 115 lb)
– Yan’s path to victory: Yan should keep it standing and stick and move to win rounds by volume.
– Jandiroba’s path to victory: Jandiroba must initiate clinches and takedowns early to impose top control.
– Prediction: Virna Jandiroba wins (Confidence: 60/100). If she lands takedowns, Jandiroba controls rounds easily.
Jim Miller vs. Chase Hooper (LW – 155 lb)
– Miller’s path to victory: Miller needs to start fast, pressure early, and look for a sub or big shot before tiring.
– Hooper’s path to victory: Hooper should outlast Miller’s early offense and scramble into dominant positions later in the fight.
– Prediction: Chase Hooper wins (Confidence: 56/100). Youth and cardio likely tilt this toward Hooper if he survives round one.
Darren Elkins vs. Julian Erosa (FW – 145 lb)
– Elkins’s path to victory: Elkins needs to make it a clinch-heavy war and test Erosa’s durability.
– Erosa’s path to victory: Erosa should use output and movement to avoid the grind and win on volume.
– Prediction: Julian Erosa wins (Confidence: 64/100). Erosa’s output and speed give him the edge unless Elkins drags him into a brawl.
Early Prelims
Sedriques Dumas vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk (MW – 185 lb)
– Dumas’s path to victory: Dumas must manage range and slow the fight with leg kicks and clinches.
– Oleksiejczuk’s path to victory: Oleksiejczuk should press early and try to overwhelm Dumas with power combos.
– Prediction: Michal Oleksiejczuk wins (Confidence: 63/100). If Michal gets inside early, he likely finds a finish.
Su Mudaerji vs. Mitch Raposo (FLW – 125 lb)
– Mudaerji’s path to victory: Mudaerji must use reach and speed to control distance and find clean counters.
– Raposo’s path to victory: Raposo should shoot often and turn it into a wrestling-heavy fight.
– Prediction: Su Mudaerji wins (Confidence: 62/100). If Raposo can’t close the distance, Mudaerji lights him up from range.
Tresean Gore vs. Marco Tulio (MW – 185 lb)
– Gore’s path to victory: Gore needs to get inside, land bombs, and look to finish or take it down.
– Tulio’s path to victory: Tulio should kick from range and avoid firefights.
– Prediction: Tresean Gore wins (Confidence: 60/100). If Gore lands early or gets on top, the fight may not last long.
Nora Cornolle vs. Hailey Cowan (BW – 135 lb)
– Cornolle’s path to victory: Cornolle should use movement and volume to control the striking exchanges.
– Cowan’s path to victory: Cowan needs to close the distance and impose clinch control.
– Prediction: Nora Cornolle wins (Confidence: 64/100). Cornolle’s pace and output likely win her rounds at range.
